Campaigns Overview
Campaigns are the core organizational unit for your marketing efforts. Each campaign represents a coordinated set of content and activities aimed at achieving a specific goal.
What is a Campaign?
A campaign is a container for:
- Goal - What you want to achieve (leads, awareness, sales, etc.)
- Target Audience - Who you're trying to reach
- Platforms - Where content will be published
- Content - Posts, images, and media created for the campaign
- Schedule - When content will be published
- Brand Guidelines - Rules for tone and visual style
Campaign Goals
Choose the goal that best matches your objective:
| Goal | Best For | Metrics to Watch |
|---|---|---|
| Leads | Collecting signups, emails, inquiries | Form submissions, conversions |
| Awareness | Introducing your brand to new audiences | Reach, impressions |
| Engagement | Building community, starting conversations | Likes, comments, shares |
| Sales | Promoting products, driving purchases | Click-through rate, conversions |
| Traffic | Sending visitors to your website | Link clicks, site visits |
| Conversions | Driving specific actions | Conversion rate, goal completions |

Organizing Campaigns
Best Practices
- Use descriptive names - "Summer Sale 2024 - Facebook" is better than "Campaign 1"
- Set clear goals - Choose the goal that matches your business objective
- Define time boundaries - Use start/end dates to scope the campaign
- Group by initiative - Create separate campaigns for distinct marketing initiatives
Campaign vs. Posts
Think of it this way:
- Campaign = The overall marketing effort (e.g., "Product Launch")
- Posts = Individual pieces of content within the campaign
One campaign can contain many posts across multiple platforms.
