  1. Pick 2–3 mission-critical data flows (intel production, ops planning, cyber defense). Map identity → device → app → data → sharing.
  2. Define “good access” in operational terms (who, what, where, when, and why). This becomes your baseline.
  3. Instrument visibility end-to-end (identity signals, endpoint telemetry, network flows, app logs, and data access events).
  4. Automate the top five response actions (disable tokens, step-up auth, quarantine device, isolate segment, snapshot evidence).
  5. Operationalize continuous compliance by turning RMF controls into continuously measured signals.

Track outcomes, not just control completion:

  • Time from suspicious behavior to containment
  • Percent of privileged access that is just-in-time

“How do we avoid AI becoming a black box?”
