Here’s the dangerous version: AI becomes the “confidence layer” that makes bad decisions look scientific.
AI-powered credit scoring can create a trust illusion
When an app says “pre-approved,” users assume a legitimate process happened. In reality, it might just be a marketing trigger powered by prior data permissions.
AI scoring is not the enemy. The problem is when:
- users don’t understand what data is used

- collections teams treat data access as a weapon
