A soft robot developed by researchers at the University of Michigan and Shanghai Jiao Tong University uses an origami structure to crawl and climb vertical surfaces, while maintaining accuracy usually associated with rigid robots.
Soft robotics is often dismissed as âcool but weak.â Thatâs outdated. The value proposition is clear:
